August has been a bit of a wipe out. I did the classic thing of feeling better and then doing too much. I did however get to suprise some old friends and celebrate a siblings birthday. Oh and I unpacked the new house. So I guess it’s not too surprising I wiped myself out.
I did go to a new sewing group, and it’s delightful. It was incredibly welcoming and fun. I’m definitely trying to make it a part of my regular schedule
- Jumper – No change
- Chinese landscape cross stitch – No change
- Large mixed media embroidery – No change
- Clamshell draft excluder – No change
- Mandolin quilt – I’m working on mandolin 15 and well into the last section of edge pieces
- A beaded Christmas wreath – No change
- The mixed media quilt as you panels – No change
- A beaded bauble – No change
- A cherish quilt – No change
- Two quilts – the sewing group is doing a quilt drive for project Linus and I took some orphan blocks that had been donated. They’ve been sewn up into quilt tops and now I need to sort wadding and backing before quilting them. I have until the middle of October so I’ll have to get a move on
My one finish for the month is a new foot rest for my office
Behold the magic of a shoebox filled with cardboard and covered in fabric. I actually need a second because I often sit in a funny diagonal position with my feet on the draw – which is pretty bad for my toes.
My feature image is from my garden, it’s not the prettiest section but I love hollyhocks, there’s a rubharb plant and having a compost heap makes me feel very grown up.
